Professor Clare Scott is the Joint Division Head of the Clinical Translation Centre and Head of the Ovarian and Rare Cancers Laboratory at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI). Dr Scott is the Professor of Gynaecological Cancer at The University of Melbourne and is a Medical Oncologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Royal Melbourne and Royal Women's Hospitals. 

Professor Goldstein is a conjoint clinical professor. He has been involved in a variety of clinical research projects ranging from laboratory basic science to novel therapeutics trials to psychosocial aspects of Cancer care. He has been PI of a number of NHMRC and Cancer Australia funded therapeutic trials including both investigator initiated and as Australian PI for multinational studies. 

Dr Damien Kee is a medical oncologist and clinician‑scientist specialising in melanoma, rare cancers and precision oncology. He is based at the Austin Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and is a senior clinical research fellow in the Rare Cancer Laboratory at WEHI.

Bryan is a senior Medical Oncologist based at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Queensland where he is the lead for Thoracic Oncology and research. He is the current Lung Cancer chair of the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia and an Associate Professor with Griffith University, the University of the Sunshine Coast and the University of Queensland. Bryan has always been passionate about quality improvement and health service research, particularly on equity for regional and remote Australians affected by cancer.

Dr Melvin Chin is a medical oncologist at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and a clinician–scientist at the National Centre for Asbestos Related Diseases in Western Australia. Dr Chin specialises in mesothelioma, brain cancers, and head and neck cancers, with research focused on applying bioinformatics, artificial intelligence and computational approaches to identify biomarkers and predict treatment response.

Dr Michelle Harrison is a senior staff specialist in Medical Oncology at Chris O'Brien Lifehouse in Sydney. She specialises in the management of gynaecological cancers and has a particular interest in rare cancers, including rare gynaecological cancers. Michelle is actively involved in clinical trials and research, with a focus on improving outcomes for people affected by uncommon cancer types.

Dr Betty Zhang is a medical oncologist based in Brisbane and previously undertook medical oncology training at Calvary Mater Newcastle, Westmead Hospital and Blacktown Hospital. In 2022 she completed a clinical fellowship in sarcoma at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, which spurred her interest in rare cancers and genomics. Betty spent one year undertaking cancer genomics research at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. Betty's interests lie in rare cancers, cancer “omics”, and statistics.

Dr Cassie Turner is a medical oncologist at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Queensland with an interest in treating breast, brain, thoracic and gynaecological cancers. She joined the Australian Rare Cancer Portal team in 2023, and is now a senior research fellow.  Born and raised in rural Queensland, Cassie brings to the team an understanding of the unique challenges rural and remote Australians can face in accessing cancer care and is passionate about improving equity.

Dr Chloe Georgiou is a medical oncologist based in regional Victoria with a sub-specialty interest in rare, gastrointestinal and genitourinary cancers. She completed her medical degree through the University of Melbourne in 2013, including an advanced medical science year at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in 2011. Her FRACP in medical oncology was awarded in 2022, and she completed a Master of Cancer Sciences in 2023. She was the inaugural clinical trials fellow at Bendigo Health, and now acts as a principal investigator at the site in addition to clinical oncology work. She is a co-chair (access and awareness) of the Victorian Rare Cancer Clinical Trials Alliance

Dr Arabella Widders is a Medical Oncology Advanced Trainee based in Queensland. She completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and has since worked in multiple hospitals from Cairns to Brisbane. Areas of clinical interest include lung, skin and genitourinary cancers and she is currently completing research into real world outcomes for people with small cell lung cancer. During the COVID pandemic she wrote a discussion paper which has been cited by researchers worldwide and retains an interest in translating scientific evidence into clinically relevant material.

Dr Cassie Beaven is a Clinical Research Fellow in Medical Oncology at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Queensland. She completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and has undertaken further postgraduate training, including a Master of Public Health and a Master of Medicine.

Dr Maryanne Akkerman is a Research Fellow with the Australian Rare Cancer (ARC) Portal. She completed her core training in Medical Oncology at St George Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and currently works as a medical oncology registrar at the Mater Hospital in Sydney. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and holds a Master of Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Sydney, which provided a strong foundation in critical appraisal and data analysis.

Dr. Nicole Pringle is currently working as Medical Oncologist at the Gold Coast University Hospital. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University and undertook specialist medical oncology training across Queensland’s hospital network. Along with this, she holds a Masters of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) from the University of Sydney. Her clinical and research experience covers a broad range of solid tumour malignancies with a special interest in lung cancer, genitourinary cancer and gastrointestinal cancer.

Dr Sebastian Kang is a medical oncologist currently practicing in Perth. Having completed his core specialist training in Queensland, he has experience in treating a wide range of tumours. More recently as Clinical Research Fellow at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, he was co-investigator in a number of clinical trials and developed specialist experience in thoracic and gastrointestinal cancers. He takes keen interest in clinical research and has published research articles focusing on health service improvements and rural oncology. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Biostatistics degree with the University of Sydney.

Dr Stephanie Wakeling is a medical oncologist practicing in Melbourne and regional Victoria. She completed her medical oncology training across several centres, including the Austin Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and multiple regional hospitals.

Jamie Flynn is the Project Officer for the Australian Rare Cancer Portal. He supports the day-to-day delivery of the ARC Portal, working with clinicians and researchers to help coordinate referrals, manage data, and continually improve the service for referring oncologists and patients.
