Our team

Dr Cassie Beaven is a Clinical Research Fellow in Medical Oncology at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Queensland. She completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and has undertaken further postgraduate training, including a Master of Public Health and a Master of Medicine.

She grew up in regional Queensland, which has shaped her understanding of the differences in access to cancer care between regional and metropolitan settings. This has informed her interest in improving equity in cancer outcomes. Through her work with the Australian Rare Cancer Portal, she hopes to support clinicians managing rare and complex cancers and contribute to improving access to specialist expertise across Australia.
