Our team

Dr Damien Kee is a medical oncologist and clinician‑scientist specialising in melanoma, rare cancers and precision oncology. He is based at the Austin Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and is a senior clinical research fellow in the Rare Cancer Laboratory at WEHI.

Damien’s research focuses on integrating genomics into routine cancer care and developing national platforms to improve outcomes for patients with rare cancers. He led the NOMINATOR study, Australia’s first national genomic profiling trial in rare cancers; is the deputy chair of the Omico Molecular Tumour Board; and contributes to the Australian Rare Cancer Portal.

Dr Kee chairs the COSA Melanoma and Skin Cancers Group and is Deputy Chair of the COSA Rare Cancers Group. He has published extensively, with publications in leading journals including: The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Cancer Cell, and is committed to advancing precision oncology in clinical practice.
